I do not personally know this guy. I think he's in Canada and may be getting different episodes, but his reviews are always very thorough, well-thought out and well-articulated.

I have no idea how she finds all these little quizzes. But they are absolutely easy and fun.
This one touched on the lingquistics that's my major. I thought about this a lot last semester and will probably have some more thoughts with the Lang. Acquisition class this coming semester.
I, personally have tried to rid myself of a southern accent, because (to me) it seems that only the one from GA or Dallas sounds sweet. Everything else just sounds hick. Being from MS, that what I felt like came out of my mouth. So add in theater (enunciation) and consciousl thought about the words and meaning I'm trying to convey, everything is supposed to sound different.
Try this quiz and see how you rate. I'm about as far from southern as one can get on a multiple choice non-vocal quiz. Could just be my ideal and not how I actually sound. But if you're into linguistics at all, this is a bit interesting.
